Richelle Taylor
has over 15 years of publishing and public relations experience.
Throughout her career in print media, she has interviewed and written
articles on notables such as the Governor of Ohio, Ted Strickland, Susan
L. Taylor, then editor-in-chief of Essence Magazine, Iyanla Vanzant,
author, Stephen L. Perry, CEO Pro Football Hall of Fame, Terrie Williams
of the Terrie Williams Agency, and Barbara Smith, owner of B. Smith’s
Restaurant amongst many. She possesses multiple skills in the
communications arena ranging from advertising sales to public relations.
Ms.
Taylor is a great self-promoter and has been interviewed on several
radio and television stations in Washington, DC and Cleveland, OH as the
publisher of two magazines. The first, The Spirit, which focused
on alternative healthcare for African-American women was published in
Washington, DC from 1996-2000, and the current, Community Links
Magazine, focuses on the small business community of Northeast Ohio, was
started in 2004.
She has
proven to be an outstanding and positive contributor to the communities
where she has worked, developing good rapport with local government
officials, business owners, educators and residents, and is diligently
collaborating with leaders in various Northeast Ohio communities to
build a better future. She says, “It’s my job to help people. My goal is
to help give them a voice and spread their message-whether through
writing a good story about them, a public relations campaign, graphic
design, or simply taking pictures. My job is to help people turn their
ideas into reality.”
Ms.
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Norfolk State
University. She served as a mentor to six elementary school girls with
Project Wheelbarrow for the entire school year of 2007 and has been
selected as an Americorps volunteer coordinator to recruit mentors for
inner city youth in Canton, OH. She is committed to motivating people to
raise their self-esteem through her signature lecture, “Discovering Who
You Really Are.” She is a board member of 2nd April Gallery and the
Stark County Urban League. She also serves as the public relations chair
of the Cleveland East Rotary, and holds membership with the Cleveland
NAACP, and the Consortium of African-American Organizations, all located
Northeast Ohio.
